DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS

CLL DIVISIONS

T-Ball: Ages 4-5
At this level the focus is exclusively on learning the very basic fundamental of the game and having tons of fun, so the kids will come back next year. Coaches place balls on the tee for hitting. Emphasis is on basic skills, teamwork and fun. Expect one practice and one game each week.

A: Ages 6-7
At this level of play there is increased focus on basic skills, teamwork, respect for coaches and umpires, and the rules of the game while still retaining a fun atmosphere. Coaches pitch to the players using RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) 5 ball. Expect two-three events per week.

AA: Ages 7-9
This is the entry into competitive baseball with increased emphasis on basic skills, play-making decisions, teamwork along with respect for umpires and coaches. Intensity level of play appropriately increased. Regulation hard balls are used. This level includes use of pitching machines and players pitching for the first time. Score-keeping, game scores and standings are all introduced. Expect two-three events each week.

AAA: Ages 9-11
The level of competition increases as players pitch with steals allowed. Emphasis on basic skills, play-making decisions, teamwork and respect for umpires and coaches. Balanced teams are formed by a blind draft using results from the mandatory skills evaluation. Score-keeping, pitch counts, game scores, standings, end of season Tournament and Championship. Expect one practice and two games each week.

Majors: Ages 10-12
This is advanced and competitive play. Emphasis on refining of all skills learned at previous levels. Balanced teams are formed as Managers draft players to be on their team using results from the mandatory skills evaluation. Those players not assigned to a Majors team are automatically entered into the AAA. Score-keeping, pitch counts, game scores, standings, end of season Tournament and Championship and All-Stars. Expect one practice and two games each week.

Intermediate 50/70: Age 13
This division, which was a new division of Little League Baseball in 2013 for players league-age 11-13 with postseason tournament opportunities, including All Stars, offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/Big League field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance and 90-foot base paths).
